T-Mart Hand Held Two Way Walkie Talkie Radio Review

 

We recently had the pleasure of trying out a set of Walkie Talkie Radio's from a company called T-Mart that has a very huge inventory of products to choose from for your children and for adults!

I hope that this diagram shows up good on my blog since it's so dark. I wanted to give you a pretty good idea of how far these will work for each set of parameters. We had a lot of fun testing them out but I tried really hard to not mess the packaging up or the walkie talkie's themselves as they will be a gift to my husband's nephew. He and his Dad go out to horse shows a lot and we thought these might make a good gift for them so that they could keep in touch and not lose each other in those auctions.

 

I would have loved to have kept them for ourselves, but when you are on a strict budget and don't have extra to spend on Christmas gifts, I pretty much use what I review for other people. I guess I would rather make someone else happy than to hog all the goodies for myself. I do tend to keep beauty products (well some of them anyway) because those definitely can become very expensive.

 

We think my husband's brother and son will really get a kick out of these and use them quite a lot. They also have a horse farm and can use these to keep in touch while out there, too!

 

 

T-Mart is really good about making sure you have all the information that you need to operate whatever product that you get from them and I wanted to show you what is in the manual that comes with the walkie talkie's. They have a lot of Questions and Answers on their site and in the manual so if you have any problems or need answers, you should be able to find them all within easy reach.

10. Solutions to FAQs when trying the radio

• Frequency Interference: Voices from other group or other broadcasting stations are heard on the channel. Three methods are available: 1) Change Channel 2) Set CDCSS/CTCSS or DTMF code 3) Lower the squelch level.
• Short Distance: If there is difference between required communication distance and practical distance, the communication can be realized through adjustment of radio RF power or squelch level. Or, a repeater is suggested added to improve the communication.
• Intermittent Voice: Intermittent voice is often heard in critical distance during radio communication. Under such condition, please adjust squelch level or cancel CDCSS/CTCSS code to improve it.
• Squeaking: It′s normal that squeaking may be heard on the channel when two radios is several meters near or closer. Users can adjust the volume to improve it.

Tips for Locating a Clear Channel

*Switch off the radio′s Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System (CTCSS).
*Choose a channel and listen for activity. (Since many users do not bother to change channels, Channel 1 is usually busy.)
*Listen for a minute or two. If conversations are ongoing, try Channel 2, then Channel 3 and so on until an unused main channel is found. Unless you are in a high-traffic area (such as a ski resort), usually a vacant main channel can be located.

I read some of the other reviews on this set of Walkie Talkie's and they got a really good rating for what they are intended for. Please be aware that you will not be able to talk to someone who is 25 miles away. That would require a lot bigger or better wattage walkie talkie. I wouldn't suggest using these for long distance. For what they do, they appear to be excellent and are right up there with any other brand available. I think anyone getting them for keeping in touch with each other in the shopping mall, or other small enclosed places like parks and such should have no problems.
